In March 2017, the Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University will host the Papanin Readings, an international youth conference, as part of The Arctic — Territory of Dialogue Forum, the Russian Geographical Society (RGS) reports on its website. A tribute to the outstanding polar explorer Ivan Papanin, the event will focus on scientific initiatives set forth by young researchers.

University students, young scientists, specialists under 35 and D.Sc.'s under 40 are invited to take part.

Participants must register at http://russianpolar.ru/papanin/ until January 30, 2017.

The Papanin Readings' are organized by the Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University, the Polar Initiative Scientific Information Center and the RGS Youth Club in the Arkhangelsk Region.
