Safe City system to be launched in Arctic cities

Russia's northern cities of Naryan-Mar, Anadyr and Norilsk have been chosen to pilot the Safe City system in the Arctic in 2015, the Arktika Info news agency reported, quoting Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov. The system, he said, will be implemented this year.

"The Safe City system is a powerful complex that can ensure the efficient operation of transport and infrastructure, and provide for security at all major thoroughfares. It also ensures reliable operation of all systems essential for urban life," Mr. Puchkov said.
