Arkhangelsk-Novaya Zemlya flights resume after three-year break

Pskovavia air carrier has started offering round-trip service between Arkhangelsk and Amderma-2 on Novaya Zemlya after a three-year break, the press center of the Arkhangelsk Region Government reports. The airline operates regular chartered flights on Antonov An-24 passenger planes on certain days

"Joint work involving the Arkhangelsk Region Government and top airline managers has already made it possible to resolve all issues and to coordinate the flights with the Russian Defense Ministry and the Federal Agency for Air Transport (Rosaviatsiya)," said Vadim Krivov, head of the regional agency for transport and communications.

These flights have resumed on orders from Governor Igor Orlov and in line with a regional aviation development strategy, Mr. Krivov added.
