Russia will establish a single command center for its submarines, ships and aircraft in the Arctic area, Alexander Yakunin, General Director of the Unified Instrument Manufacturing Corporation, told the TASS news agency. The UIMC is part of the Rostec Corporation and is building the system.

"For a number of reasons, the information infrastructure is underdeveloped there, but we have already begun constructing a unified information space in the Arctic. In particular, in 2016 we will begin integrating the Rodnik satellite communications system with coastal communications systems for the Unified Strategic Command of the North Fleet," Alexander Yakunin said.
