Murmansk to host State Commission for Arctic Development Presidium March 9

On March 9, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin will chair a meeting of the State Commission for Arctic Development Presidium in Murmansk.

According to the state commission's press service, meeting participants will discuss a new draft version of a state program of the socio-economic development of the Arctic zone until 2020, the creation of a joint transport infrastructure, the allocation of transport systems for the Russian Arctic and the results of a 2015 transport project to deliver freight to northern regions.

"Senior officials from the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Transport, experts from the state commission's business and science-expert councils are expected to deliver reports," the press service noted.

Representatives of executive federal agencies, the heads of Russia's Arctic regions, and representatives from the business community and research agencies will take part in the meeting.
