Russian Government to finance construction of the fourth section of the Naryan-Mar-Usinsk road

In 2017, the Nenets Autonomous Area will receive 496.2 million rubles' worth of federal funding for its road construction projects. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed the relevant instruction, according to a post on the Area's government agencies website. The above sum will make it possible to complete the fourth section of the Naryan-Mar-Usinsk road, which will link the Area with the Komi Republic.

In late December 2015, the road construction and resurfacing company Naryan-Mar Dorremstroi started building the fourth section of the Naryan-Mar-Usinsk road. The road-bed and drainage pipes are currently being installed, and a permanent bridge is being built across the Kharyakha River.

The Nenets Autonomous Area is the only mainland Russian region that lacks access to federal motorways. The unfinished Syktyvkar-Naryan-Mar road, including its above-mentioned fourth section, is expected to solve this problem. It will take an estimated ten billion rubles to complete the entire Naryan-Mar-Usinsk road.
