Russian Arctic military infrastructure to be complete by 2020

The program to develop Russia's military infrastructure in the Arctic is to be completed by 2020, RIA Novosti quoted Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu as saying on a conference call.

"Every year, we open a fair number of new facilities," he said. "This year, we'll complete the projects on certain islands. We also have ambitious plans for 2018. The entire program is to be finished by 2020."

The minister said Russia's financial opportunities allowed it to complete the military infrastructure in the Arctic.
