Rosatom seeks Dutch involvement in development of super nuclear icebreaker

Engineering holding Atomenergomash, a Rosatom subsidiary, has signed memorandums of understanding with two Dutch shipbuilding product suppliers, Coops & Nieborg BV and Machine & Lierenfabriek C. Kraaijeveld BV, RIA Novosti reported citing Atomenergomash's press service.

"The purpose of the documents is to consider the possibility of cooperating in prospective shipbuilding and ship repair projects. In particular, the possible participation of the Dutch companies as partners of Atomenergomash in the project to build Russia's Leader-class nuclear icebreakers as well as other promising shipbuilding and ship repairing projects will be considered," the statement said.

The press service added that a separate contract will be signed to specify project implementation terms, the parties' responsibilities, the list of items and costs, total costs, deadlines and delivery, and work execution terms. In addition, the possibility of providing Atomenergomash-based production of the Dutch companies' equipment will also be worked out in the interests of the United Shipbuilding Corporation companies.
