Russian Geographical Society Holds Grant Competition for Arctic Student Forum

The Russian Geographical Society and Norway's Akvaplan-Niva research company have announced a joint competition for BA and MA Russian students to participate in the first Arctic student forum in Tromso, Norway.

Ten winners will receive grants to report at the forum.

The grants will cover traveling, accommodation and food expenses, and also the registration fee. The winners will have the opportunity to attend topic seminars, roundtables, cultural events and the research conference, "Arctic Boundaries — 2016."

Competitors are required to have a keen interest in Arctic research, have good academic records, speak fluent English, provide their report guidelines, and also have a travel passport. More details are available here.

Applications are accepted until Oct. 16. The winners will be announced on Nov. 3 during the international roundtable, "Arctic Exploration: Modern Challenges," which will be held as part of the second festival of the Russian Geographical Society from Oct. 30 to Nov. 8, 2015.

The Arctic student forum will be organized on Jan. 24-29, 2016 on the sidelines of the international conference, "Arctic Boundaries — 2016: Industry and Environment."
