International cooperation in the Arctic is gaining momentum – Chilingarov

International cooperation in the Arctic is continuing to grow in spite of sanctions, Artur Chilingarov, special presidential representative on cooperation in the Arctic and Antarctic, told the arctic.ru web portal.

"The sanctions have no effect on international cooperation in the Arctic. We are holding many conferences, including Arctic Days in Moscow and The Arctic: the Present and the Future in St. Petersburg early in December. We have plans for other scientific conferences in which representatives of the Arctic countries are happy to participate," he said.

As a reminder, the 2nd Open Arctic international research conference is taking place at the Academy of Sciences on November 19-20 as part of the Arctic Days in Moscow forum. Leading experts and scientists from Russia, the UK, Norway and other countries are taking part in the event.
