Russia-US cooperation within the Arctic Council remains successful

Russia-US cooperation within the Arctic Council remains successful, US Special Representative for the Arctic Robert Papp said at a news conference in Tromso, Norway.

"Our cooperation is very strong. The Secretary of State [of the US John Kerry] and [Russian Foreign] Minister Lavrov often hold talks. We hope that Minister Lavrov will attend our events in the future. The last time he was unable to come to Iqaluit in Canada to attend a ministerial council meeting," RIA Novosti reported citing Papp.

According to him, despite the number of differences at the political level between the two countries, cooperation should continue. "I don't know any problem in the world that can be solved by stopping cooperation," he said.
