Taimyr to receive priority development area status

On November 20, the State Commission for Arctic Development headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin will consider granting Taimyr priority development area status, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sergei Donskoi said at a business session of the Arctic Days in Moscow forum.

The law on priority development areas, providing for tax exemptions and the free use of infrastructure for investors, came into force this year. The creation of several such areas in the Russian Far East has been approved, Rossiya Segodnya reported.

"Tomorrow, the commission, chaired by Dmitry Rogozin, will consider granting priority development area status to Taimyr," he said, adding that his ministry will endorse the move.
