Arctic-2015 expedition aboard the Kartesh research vessel leaves base. Kola Bay

In 2015, the Polar Expedition Gallery and the Moscow State University Center for Marine Studies organized a major Arctic expedition in the course of which the Kartesh research vessel traveled more than 5,700 nautical miles along the Murmansk-Naryan-Mar-Vaigach Island-Novaya Zemlya Archipelago-Yamal Peninsula-Bely Island-Ob Bay-Tazovskaya Bay-Vaigach Island-Kola Peninsula-Murmansk route.

Photographers took a lot of pictures, while scientists conducted research for three months. A memorial cross in honor of the centenary of the return of the Sedov and Brusilov expeditions was erected at Rynda (Kola Peninsula).

Expedition members: the Polar Expedition Gallery; the Moscow State University Center for Marine Studies; the Council for Sea Mammals, a regional NGO; the WWF Barents Sea Branch.
