Nenets Autonomous Area to allocate fishery plots to Northern indigenous peoples for 10 years

The Nenets Autonomous Area will allocate fishery plots to members of indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North for 10 years so that they can lead a traditional lifestyle and perform traditional economic activities, according to the area's government website. Indigenous minorities of the North will be able to catch all sorts of allowed fish within the designated limits, excluding anadromous, catadromous and trans-border fish varieties.

At present, the area's Department of Natural Resources, Environment and Agriculture is holding a tender for the right to sign contracts for Peschanka River, Roman-Yakha, Yarei-Yu and Sibirchata-Yakha fishery plots. Tender applications will be accepted from August 15, 2016 through October 4, 2016. The tender forms are available at the torgi.gov.ru website.
