News conference on UK war veterans’ visit to Crimea to be held at Rossiya Segodnya’s press center

A news conference, "Veterans of the Arctic Convoys: Crimean Gatherings," will be held at the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency's multimedia press center at 10 am on October 5.

In early October, UK veterans of the Arctic Convoys will visit Crimea to pay tribute to those killed in World War II and meet fellow veterans. The news conference will focus on Russian and UK veterans' plans, the visit's schedule and how to maintain humanitarian ties between the two countries.

Participants:

—  Anatoly Aksakov, head, Russian State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship;

—  Alexander Reshetnikov, Deputy Governor of Sevastopol;

—  Vladislav Kononov, Executive Director, Russian Military History Society;

—  Ernest Davis, Chairman, Russia Convoy Club (London), veteran of the Arctic Convoys;

—  Seymour (Bill) Taylor, member of the Russia Convoy Club, veteran of the Arctic Convoys;

—  William Bannerman, member of the Scottish Legion, veteran of the Arctic Convoys;

—  Yevgeny Kasevin, the visit's organizer, honorary member of the Russia Convoy club.

The participants will also speak live via video link-up with journalists in Simferopol and answer their questions.
