Moscow to host Yakutia’s Yhyakh festival

On June 4, Moscow will host for the 10th time the traditional state festival of the Sakha people called Yhyakh at the Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve, the festival's press service said in a statement.

Festivalgoers will have an opportunity to discover the Algys blessing ceremony, listen to music played on a guimbarde, a traditional instrument in Yakutia, and watch the Osuohai dance and competitions in traditional sports. In addition, visitors will be able to take part in contests and games, attend a gala concert and engage in many other activities.

The festival will feature the best folk groups from Yakutia's Churapcha district. Participants in the Kytalyk Kuo beauty and talent contest will wear regional costumes.

The festival is organized by the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and its permanent representative office in Moscow.
