A Day of Russian Geographical Society (RGO) will be held in the Summer Cinema and Lecture Hall at VDNKh in Moscow, on August 20, the RGO website said. As part of the summer educational program, the day will include geography quizzes and games as well as themed workshops, lectures and contests that will run from midday until 7 pm.

Visitors will also learn about the RGO's expeditions and underwater research projects, the Arctic Cleanup Program, and modern technologies in discovering ancient sunken ships and sea treasures. Hero of Russia, pilot and cosmonaut Sergei Ryazansky will talk about life in orbit, and photographer Sergei Semyonov will give a lecture on panoramic photography.

The festive program will also feature the Geographical Memory game and a geography quest around VDNKh. Children will be offered fun instructions on how to pack a backpack and put up a tent.
