Specialists to describe plans for Arctic station using zero-carbon energy sources

On January 20, a project to create an all-year-round autonomous international Arctic station will be presented at the news conference, Arctic station using zero-carbon energy sources: a new international project. The opening of the new station is scheduled for spring 2022. The station is capable of using renewable energy sources and hydrogen instead of diesel and should serve as a platform for the international work of engineers, researchers and young scientists.

The list of invited speakers includes Russia's Arctic Council Senior Official Nikolai Korchunov, COO of the Institute of Arctic Technologies of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) Yury Vasilyev and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region Deputy Governor Alexander Mazharov as well as representatives of the UN Environment Program in Russia, the Northern Forum and the Italian, Dutch, Korean, Finnish, and US embassies.
