Emergency Situations Ministry holds Arctic drills

The Russian Emergencies Ministry has held wide-ranging search-and-rescue drills for people in distress in the Arctic. The drills, which took place on September 15 in Arkhangelsk, involved Ka-32 and Mi-8 helicopters, the Be-200ChS amphibious aircraft, the Neotrazimy sea-going firefighting rescue tug boat from the ministry’s Arctic center, the Lider search-and-rescue boat, the Barents rescue boat from the Arkhangelsk Region civil defense center and over 20 other rescue equipment units.
