The Great Northern Route historical-sport expedition, dedicated to the 400th anniversary of establishing the Northern Sea Route, took place in the spring of 2016. A team of adventure travelers from the Russian Geographical Society’s Arctic Expedition Center set out from Novy Urengoi and reached Pevek via the Arctic Ocean coast.
