Hydrographic survey vessel Gorizont completes 46-day Arctic expedition

The Northern Fleet's hydrographic ship Gorizont completed its Arctic expedition and returned to its home base of Mishukovo, in the Murmansk Region, RIA Novosti reports, citing head of the fleet's press service, Captain 1st Rank Vadim Serga.

During a 46-day expedition, hydrographers conducted surveys in the Barents and Kara seas, as well as in the Yenisei Gulf. The research was carried out as part of several programs to study the Russian Arctic and to develop the coastal infrastructure.

Capt. Serga said the ship and expedition crew had accomplished their objectives in spite of the unfavorable weather.
