Dmitry Rogozin: Russia is on target to increase the flow of goods via the Northern Sea Route to 40 million metric tons by 2022

Russia plans to ship up to 40 million metric tons of goods along the Northern Sea Route by 2022, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel.

"Given output figures under all our oil and gas projects, we expect to ship up to 40 million metric tons of goods along the Northern Sea Route by 2022," Rogozin said.

Rogozin added that freight traffic across the Northern Sea Route has remarkably increased in recent years — from 4 million metric tons in 2014 to 7.5 million metric tons last year.
