Forty fishing regulation violations exposed in Nenets Autonomous Area

As of the start of this year's navigation season, the environmental management center in the Nenets Autonomous Area identified 40 fishing regulation violations in the northern fisheries basin, the regional administration's website reports.

"From July 1 to July 24, 2015 task forces drew up 26 administrative offence reports. During the reporting period, they confiscated 15 drifting nets measuring a total of 1,850 meters in length and 67 stake nets measuring a total of 2,860 meters in length," the governor's press service reports. In addition, 40 nets, 2,280 meters in length, were destroyed.

The oversight functions involve the staff of the Dvina-Pechora territorial directorate of the Federal Agency for Fishery, the border guards, the Emergencies Ministry and the police.
