Famous polar researcher Artur Chilingarov, who has been elected to the new State Duma, told the Moskva news agency that he would propose creating a special commission on Arctic affairs.

"I intend to focus on the Arctic [in the State Duma], with new laws and protection. I plan to set up a commission on laws related to the Arctic," Chilingarov said.
