Roscartography completes National Atlas of the Arctic

Roscartography completed the National Atlas of the Arctic, the company's press service reports. It was compiled on instructions from President Vladimir Putin.

The atlas contains full updated information on the region's geographical, ecological, economic, historical, ethnographic, demographic, cultural and social features and peculiarities of the Russian Arctic. It is designed for widespread use in managerial, defense, economic, educational and public activities," the report says.

Over a hundred leading Russian experts from 23 research institutions, universities, and industrial companies, as well as 12 ministries and departments took part in the work to compile it.

The atlas underwent expert appraisal at the Center of Geodesy, Cartography and Spatial Data Infrastructure at the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadaster and Cartography and received positive assessments from leading researchers.
