Arctic Development Commission to meet in St. Petersburg on June 29

Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Commission for Arctic Development Dmitry Rogozin will chair an onsite meeting of the Presidium of the State Commission for Arctic Development on June 29, RIA Novosti reports.

The Commission will meet in St. Petersburg on the sidelines of the 8th International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS-2017), which will be held from June 28 to July 2.

"The Commission will discuss plans to create a modern information and telecommunications infrastructure in the Arctic, the Russian Arctic regions' energy security and a project to mark the external boundaries of Russia's continental shelf in the Arctic Ocean," according to  a press release issued by the Commission.

The meeting will be attended by the heads of federal executive agencies and Russian Arctic regions and delegates from business and research communities. Reports will be delivered by the heads of the ministries of communications, natural resources and energy.

The previous meeting of the Commission was held on June 14 in Sabetta, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area. It was also chaired by Dmitry Rogozin.
