Northern Fleet gets ATVs for Arctic reconnaissance and patrol

The Northern Fleet's Arctic motorized infantry brigade has taken delivery of the first shipment of state-of-the-art AM-1 ATVs or quads for reconnaissance operations, TASS reports, citing the fleet's press service.

"The first consignment of seven AM-1 army all-terrain vehicles has arrived at the Northern Fleet's Arctic motorized infantry brigade. They are designed for reconnaissance and patrol operations under various conditions, including in the Arctic," the press service said.

The ATVs are equipped with mounts for grenade launchers and light weapons — the AK-74 automatic rifle and the SVD sniper rifle, and have a front storage compartment for ammunition.
