Chukotka and Kolyma to tackle infrastructure restrictions in energy and transportation

Governor of Chukotka Roman Kopin and Governor of the Magadan Region Vladimir Pechyony have signed an agreement on cooperation in removing infrastructure bottlenecks in the energy and transportation sectors, Arktika-Info Agency reports.

Under the deal, the two regions will work together to improve the investment climate, put in place good conditions for resolving social sector tasks, and ensure rapid social and economic growth.

The agreement also commits the two regions to uniting efforts to develop the interregional investment project for a road following the route Kolyma-Omsukchan-Omolon-Anadyr, and an energy bridge between the regions created by building overhead  electricity lines along the route from Bilibino to Kekura onto  Peschanka and ending in Omsukchan.
