The Northern Fleet will conduct anti-terrorist exercises on Novaya Zemlya archipelago, the Northern Fleet's press service reported.

During the exercises, arctic crews will be carried onboard the large Georgy Pobedonosets and Kondopoga assault ships to the Rogachyov Bay on the western coast of Yuzhny Island on Novaya Zemlya archipelago.

"In the near future, reconnaissance will be conducted in the Rogachyov Bay and the areas will be designated for landing equipment and personnel from assault ships on the coast of Novaya Zemlya," the press service reported.

Conducting anti-terrorist exercises on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago is one of the final tasks of the Arctic mission.

The ships will subsequently sail to their locations of permanent deployment.
