About 1,500 products displayed at the Arctic technology exhibition in Omsk

Some 1,500 products of 164 companies from 17 cities in Russia, Belarus and Armenia were on display at the International Exhibition of High Technologies and Equipment for the Arctic, Siberia and the Far East VTTA — Omsk 2015, the Arctic-Info news agency reported, citing the exhibition's press service.

"The three-day exhibition is nearing completion. It was the first expo to deal exclusively with the Arctic. We believe, and our opinion is shared by the visitors, that the exhibition was a success," said Viktor Belov, the Industry, Transport and Innovation Technology Minister of the Omsk Region.

Over 200 Russian and foreign companies took part in the exhibition, which attracted the attention of experts  from Gazprom, Gazprom Neft, Rosneft, Rosatom, RusHydro, Norilsk Nickel, Sibur Holding, Russian Railways (RZhD), Alrosa and Siemens.

A special working group was established following the exhibition to promote the Siberian companies' Arctic developments. The group is chaired by Nikolai Rogozhkin, the President's Plenipotentiary Representative in the Siberian Federal District.

"This is an opportunity to establish direct contacts with corporate clients through the government's federal programs," Belov said.

The documents that were signed during the forum include a cooperation agreement between the Omsk Region government and Gas-Turbine Engineering Research and Production Center Salyut, and a roadmap on the implementation of an agreement to create a consortium of research and academic organizations in the Omsk Region under a cluster model of industrial development.
