The radar units of the Eastern Military District carried out a comprehensive training to detect air targets on Wrangel Island and Cape Schmidt, the RIA Novosti news agency reported, citing Colonel Alexander Gordeyev, head of the Eastern Military District's press service.

"During the exercises, the radar units' personnel carried out detection, identification and tracking of targets simulating aircraft and missiles of an imagined enemy. In addition, the staff of control centers carried out the task of promptly transmitting the coordinates of mock air targets to the command center of the Air Force and Air Defense Force of the district," Gordeyev said.

The comprehensive training involved over 100 military personnel and up to 20 units of equipment of radio engineering and communication troops.
