Arctic Trefoil development project nears completion

The construction of the Arctic Trefoil office and residential complex on Alexandra Land on the Franz Josef Archipelago has reached its final stage, with 97 percent of the project, which is part of the Northern Fleet's Arctic infrastructure, completed. The overall readiness of all facilities that are being built on the island has exceeded 60 percent, the Northern Fleet's press service told the TASS news agency.

"The Arctic Trefoil office and residential complex is the only capital development underway on the 80th parallel north. Its total floor space is more than 14,000 square meters," the press service said. The facility can accommodate 150 people, who can live there simultaneously for 18 months on the fuel, food and property stored at local warehouses.

Closed passages will be built between the infrastructure facilities to protect personnel from the elements and to save heat.
