Over 1,450 military infrastructure facilities built in the Arctic in 2015

In 2015, the Russian Ministry of Defense has launched over 1,450 military infrastructure facilities in the Arctic. The news was announced by Lieutenant General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Defense Control Center, at a meeting of the Defense Ministry Public Council.

"We have finished delivering supplies to the military units positioned in the Far North and remote garrisons in Siberia and Russia's Far East," Mr Mizintsev said as quoted by Rossiya Segodnya.

The lieutenant general added that in 2015, supplies were increased by 10 percent compared to the previous year. Mr Mizintsev noted that the infrastructure in the Arctic, development of an airfield system, waterfront facilities, and construction of facilities required for missile systems are priorities in the region.
