Russian Navy to conduct tactical exercises in the Arctic

In 2016, the Russian Navy is to hold tactical exercises in the Arctic, including missile launches, Deputy Navy Commander Vice Admiral Alexander Fedotenkov told RIA Novosti.

"The Arctic motorized rifle brigade will hold a tactical exercise, and coastal missiles will also be launched during a research and development tactical exercise," he said.

The Navy's 2016 combat training program mostly aims to prepare diverse elements of the Northern, Pacific, Black Sea and Baltic fleets and the Caspian Flotilla for independent operations and for acting as part of combined task forces, Fedotenkov said.
