Construction of office and housing complexes for military personnel is nearing an end, Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu told RIA Novosti.

"Unique office and housing complexes, now being completed on Kotelny and Alexandra Land islands, will be manned by military units all year round," Shoigu said. Military installations are being built on Franz Josef Land, Novaya Zemlya and Severnaya Zemlya and on the Novosibirsk Islands, he noted.

We are focusing on environmental safety, waste disposal and reclamation of Arctic territories while establishing the military-technical infrastructure, Shoigu said.
