State Arctic Development Commission to hold yearend session during Arctic forum

The yearend session of the State Commission for Arctic Development  will be held as a side event of the 6th International Forum "The Arctic: the Present and the Future," as per the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Commission Chair Dmitry Rogozin, says a release on the forum's website.

The State Commission on Arctic Development was established in February 2015 by presidential executive order. It comprises the heads of federal ministries and agencies, the governors of Russia's Arctic regions, the chief executives of backbone corporations and organizations, the heads of research and education establishments, and state and public figures.

The International Forum "The Arctic: the Present and the Future" is sponsored by the Association of Polar Explorers. It is held every year to review the public Arctic agenda and to consolidate the efforts of the authorities, businesses and the public towards its implementation.

The 2015 yearend session of the State Arctic Development Commission accepted the annual public resolution of the 5th International Forum "The Arctic: the Present and the Future," which was adopted in December 2015, as a guide to action.
