Northern Fleet ends antiterrorist drills at Prirazlomnaya oil platform

A group of Northern Fleet warships held an antiterrorist exercise near the Prirazlomnaya offshore ice-resistant oil platform in the Pechora Sea, TASS reported on September 2, citing the fleet's press service.

"The drill involved counterterrorist units, the crew of the large anti-submarine warfare (ASW) ship Vice-Admiral Kulakov and the crews of ship-based helicopters Ka-27," the fleet's press service said.

The crew of the rescue tug Pamir trained to help and rescue people in a crisis situation. The Vice-Admiral Kulakov crew trained to organize the naval group for anti-submarine and air defense. On September 2, the group passed through the Kara Strait between the Vaygach and Novaya Zemlya islands and reached the Kara Sea, the press service said.
