Russian Aerospace Forces plan to rebuild at least four airfields in the Arctic before the end of 2021

The Russian Aerospace Forces plan to rebuild at least four airfields in the Arctic before the end of 2021, Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces Lt. Gen. Pavel Kurachenko told RIA Novosti.

"In the future, we will give priority to airfields in the Arctic. We will rebuild the Ukrainka, Vorkuta, Tiksi and Anadyr airfields before the end of 2021," he said, adding that the reconstruction and construction of nine airfields, including Chkalovsky, Akhtubinsk, and Millerovo, will be completed before the end of this year.

In the past few years, the Russian Armed Forces have been actively upgrading airfields, establishing military facilities and cleaning up garbage in the Arctic.
