The Government of the Chukotka Autonomous Area has decided to subsidize the Magadan-Omolon-Magadan air route, reports Chukotka's website. On May 3, the authorities signed an agreement with Siberian Light-Engine Aviation on providing subsidies from the area budget.

Subsidized flights are to begin on May 23, 2017, with ticket prices decreasing from 37,000 rubles to 15,000 rubles for all passenger categories. 

Area Governor Roman Kopin signed a list of instructions dated May 25, 2016 after a working group of the local government visited the Bilibino municipal district and the Pevek and Egvekinot city districts. One instruction concerned subsidizing the Magadan-Omolon-Magadan air route in 2017.
