Sabetta seaport cargo growth sets record for 2017

The seaport of Sabetta recorded the highest cargo growth among Russian seaports, the Federal Agency for Sea and Inland Water Transport reported.

Sabetta, which started exporting LNG in December, increased transshipment by180.7 percent compared to 2016 (from 2,845,000 metric tons to 7,987,000 metric tons). The top-five list includes the Arctic port of Kandalaksha (+102.9 percent, from 801,500 metric tons to 1,625,000 metric tons), the Far Eastern port of Zarubino (+72 percent, from 110,000 metric tons to 189,000 metric tons), Sakhalin's Nevelsk ports (+63.8 percent, from 1,062,000 metric tons to 1,740,000 metric tons) and Shakhtyorsk (+55.6 percent, from 3,987,000 metric tons to 6,202,000 metric tons).

The Black Sea's Novorossiisk is the confident leader among the Russian seaports, having transshipped 147,469,000 metric tons (+12.2 percent) over the year.
