New members and business partners join Northern Forum

Four new regions have been accepted as full members of the Northern Forum at the 12th General Assembly of the international non-governmental association in Yakutsk, the capital of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The new members are Russian Arctic regions — the Krasnoyarsk and Primorye territories, the Magadan Region and the Nenets Autonomous Area. The two new business partners are the fur breeding farm Sanoki from Yakutsk and the engineering company Sulus from St. Petersburg, according to the Arctic-Info news agency.

The Krasnoyarsk Territory has been elected to chair the Northern Forum in 2015-2017. It plans to hold its first event as the chair region in February 2016, during the 13th Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.

The 13th General Assembly of the Northern Forum will be held in 2017.

The 12th General Assembly was attended by over 150 delegates from Russia's Arctic regions, the United States, Norway, Finland and Korea.
