China is ready to step up cooperation with Russia in the Arctic, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hong Lei said, according to RIA Novosti.

"Russia is an influential Arctic state. We are ready to further our cooperation with Russia in Arctic development," he said.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment supports attracting partners and investment from China, Environment Minister Sergei Donskoi said at the Arctic Days in Moscow forum.
