Arctic Frontiers conference opens in Tromso, Norway

The Arctic Frontiers international conference opened in Tromso, Norway, on January 24. Over 1,300 delegates from 29 countries will discuss industrial development and environment protection in the Arctic during the event, RIA Novosti reported.

This is the tenth conference, which is this time presented by the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA).

"The conference will highlight the role of present-day and emerging technologies in delivering profit and ensuring environmentally secure industrial development and also in providing consistent growth for the Arctic community," the conference organizers said.

The conference will also include the Arctic Student Forum.
