The Natural Resources and Environment Ministry hopes the EU and Russia will resume joint projects in the Arctic, Minister Sergei Donskoi told journalists, according to RIA Novosti.

"I am hopeful we will finally be heard and many projects that were once frozen will now be resumed," Donskoi said while commenting on a statement by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini that the EU intends to continue constructive cooperation in the Arctic with the countries that have territories in the region and also all other global players.

Donskoi added that Russia and the EU are able to develop joint projects on specially protected natural areas and cutting pollution in the Arctic zone.
