Lavrov: Moscow ready for cooperative projects with Arctic neighbors

Moscow is prepared to cooperate with other regional countries in projects in the Russian Arctic, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told RIA Novosti.

"We are invariably open to broad and mutually advantageous cooperation with our Arctic neighbors, including joint projects in Russia's Arctic zone in various sectors — from transport to energy, tourism and environmental protection," Mr Lavrov said in a greeting address to the Executive Committee of the Arctic Economic Council, available on the Foreign Ministry's website.

The minister said this cooperation would further contribute to peace and stability in the region and promote values of equal international partnership based on mutual respect.
