Finland and Russia to do a lot through cooperation in the Arctic Council

Finland and Russia can do a lot if they cooperate in the Arctic Council, says leader of the Finland-Russia Parliamentary Group Eero Heinaluoma.

"Currently, Finland chairs the Arctic Council," said Eero Heinaluoma at a meeting with First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Nikolai Fyodorov. "Together we can do a lot in this area, joining efforts to promote our ideas and making proposals that may be integrated in various projects."

The Arctic Council is an international forum that was established in 1996 at Finland's initiative to protect the unique nature of the arctic area.
