Russia comes up with a floating terrain vehicle for the Arctic

The Tractor Plants concern produced a universal floating tracked vehicle to transport service personnel in the Arctic, the concern's spokesman told the TASS news agency.

"The TM-140A universal floating tracked vehicle is designed to transport personnel in the Arctic climate, in rough areas and off-road conditions, including virgin snow and swamps," the spokesman said.

He also noted that the vehicle's technical and ergonomic characteristics provide for long-time operation in a stand-alone mode.

The vehicle's cabin is designed like a hotel module with heat and noise insulation, a heating system and air conditioning. In addition, it is possible to install bulletproof protection and mount a machine-gun unit with remote control.
