Vera Kostamo, the author of a story published via arctic.ru has won the Living in the North! international Arctic media contest. The awards ceremony took place in Salekhard on December 10.

The work by Rossiya Segodnya special correspondent Vera Kostamo entitled "Life on Wrangel Island: a Place with One Resident" was the best in the internet publications segment of the Best Environmental Story category. The story was written specially for the Rossiya Segodnya website and later published via arctic.ru.

Vera visited Wrangel Island and described in detail the everyday life of reserve workers. She also took some impressive photos. The people working in the editorial department would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Vera on her success and hopes that she will go a long way in her professional work.
