Arkhangelsk hospitals in emergency mode following bomb threat

Upon receiving a bomb threat on January 30, the Arkhangelsk Region authorities declared emergency mode at local healthcare facilities, the regional's press service reported.

The list of hospitals in the bomb threat includes the Arkhangelsk Region Clinical Hospital, Volosevich City Clinical Hospital No. 1, Vyzhletsov Regional Children's Hospital, Arkhangelsk Region Emergency Medical Station, Arkhangelsk Clinical Ophthalmological Hospital, Arkhangelsk City Clinical Hospital No. 6, Severodvinsk Emergency Station, and Severodvinsk City Hospital No. 1.

Upon receiving anonymous threats, the region's officials immediately notified law enforcement agencies and took preventive measures to ensure security, said head of Arkhangelsk Region Healthcare Ministry's mobilization and comprehensive security department Mikhail Kotenok.

"Upon receiving the anonymous threats to healthcare facilities, we declared an emergency mode and stopped taking in and hospitalizing patients, and performing scheduled surgeries," Kotenok said. "We are not evacuating the current patients, as there are law enforcement officials on site."

"This emergency situation is now under the control of the Arkhangelsk Region government, agencies and emergency services," states the message posted on the region's website. "Please remain calm and act in accordance with the instructions of the authorities and the facility administrations."
