Arctic Forum working group will be set up in St. Petersburg

A special working group to prepare for the 5th international forum The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue will be created in St. Petersburg, Roscongress Foundation press office said in a statement. A working meeting on organizing the event took place in St. Petersburg on February 21, attended by representatives of committees and city departments involved in the organization of the conference.

"This forum is vitally important for ensuring fast and steady economic and social growth in Russia's Arctic regions. The highlight of the series of events at the forum will be the plenary session attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. This international discussion platform has been moved to St. Petersburg, and now it is extremely important to organize its business and cultural program at the highest level. I am sure that the government of St. Petersburg is ready to implement the action plan outlined today," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.

The participants had an in-depth discussion on the division of responsibilities to ensure an effective preparation for the 2019 International Arctic Forum, ways of interacting on major organizational issues, as well as drafting a plan to prepare the local infrastructure. They also planned the movements of guests and participants at Pulkovo Airport, focusing on security. Special attention was paid to the provision of timely and high-quality medical care in case of need, preparation of the premises at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Center, hotels and services in the city.

The 5th international forum The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue will be held in St. Petersburg on April 9 and 10, 2019.
